Operation Restore Hope – Racine, WI
The DRT, in collaboration with Gateway Global Ministries and various partner-volunteer teams, were given the opportunity to begin the restoration of a property in the community of Racine. Rain or shine, the volunteers kept their word and painted, weeded, mowed, cleared trees and helped to transform the property to a park-like atmosphere.
Students, community partner together to restore a disaster-relief trailer
Twenty-seven students from the College of Lake County’s automotive collision repair program have helped improve area disaster-relief efforts, donating time and materials to restore and paint an equipment trailer used by a volunteer disaster-response team from locally-based Journey Church.
It went down as one of the worst floods in the history of Burlington.
For Journey Church, which has locations in Burlington, Beach Park, Ill., and Kenosha, Burlington’s floods brought forth a sense of helplessness at the inability to know what to do to help the residents who were struggling without power, water and homes.
Journey Church’s Disaster Response Team is ready to provide disaster relief in the area.
Thanks to efforts by the College of Lake County’s automotive collision repair program this past spring in giving an old trailer a makeover, Journey Church’s Disaster Response Team is ready to provide disaster relief in the area.
